The current PSTN and ISDN telephone networks in the UK are becoming outdated, lacking recent technological advancements, which makes maintenance increasingly challenging each year. After a pending decision of over a decade, it has been confirmed that these services will be discontinued, as of January 2027 with some Service Providers choosing to shut down even earlier. Organisations relying on the older technology must plan to migrate to new platforms before the shutdown.
