SCC Shares Our Commitment to Growing Global Cybersecurity Success during Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2023
Now in its 20th year, Cybersecurity Awareness Month highlights the growing importance of cybersecurity in our daily lives and encourages individuals and organisations to take important cybersecurity steps to stay safe online.
SCC & Cybersecurity Awareness Month
SCC is committed to cybersecurity education by participating in Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Founded in 2004, Cybersecurity Awareness Month, held each October, is the world’s foremost initiative aimed at promoting cybersecurity awareness and best practices.
SCC recognises that cybersecurity is an ever-evolving challenge for any organisation. As technology advances, so does the threat landscape and the ability to remain at the forefront.
Accelerating Cyber Resilience
In our partner ecosystem, we are proud to collaborate with The Cyber Resilience Centre for the West Midlands (WMCRC). WMCRC is a not-for-profit organisation with one simple mission: equip businesses with the tools and knowledge to better protect themselves in the fight against cybercrime.
“We are really excited to welcome SCC onboard. With their wealth of IT and cyber security knowledge, partnerships, and contacts within the cyber resilience industry, we’re confident that they’ll make an excellent addition to our community.”
Vanessa Eyles, Director of WMCRC
Throughout October, SCC will be sharing insights, tips, and resources to help you plan your digital defences and provide insight into our solutions, expertise, and how we can help you.
Empowering Women in Cybersecurity
At SCC, we believe that diversity is a driving force behind innovation and progress. In the male-dominated field of information technology including cybersecurity, women remain underrepresented. We are determined to change this narrative.
SCC actively encourages more women to pursue careers in cybersecurity. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment where women can thrive, bringing their unique perspectives and talents to the forefront of the industry.
As part of this initiative, SCC will be sponsoring the upcoming Midlands Women in Tech awards alongside supporting our finalists at the CRN Women & Diversity awards. We will also be sharing spotlight videos of SCC women to showcase their talent and encourage new women to break into the cyber industry.
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO
As SCC set out on this year’s journey during Cybersecurity Month, we reiterate our dedication to heightening awareness and advocating for best practices, along with our partners, including the WMCRC, to strengthen the cybersecurity ecosystem and secure our world. Our commitment to empowering women in cybersecurity affirms our belief in diversity and inclusivity.
Cybersecurity Awareness Month continues to build momentum and impact with the goal of providing everyone with the information they need to stay safer and more secure online. SCC is proud to support this far-reaching online safety awareness and education initiative which is co-managed by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the National Cybersecurity Alliance. Stay tuned and connect with us for resources, tips, and more this month to create cyber confidence for your organisation with SCC.
