Digital Leader nomination for SCC and NHS Dumfries & Galloway
SCC and NHS Dumfries & Galloway have been nominated for a Digital Leaders 100 award in the Digital Team of the Year category.
The event, which launched in 2013, has become the premier list identifying individuals and teams leading digital transformation in the UK. It consists of leaders and organisations who are pioneering change within the public sector, enterprise, SMEs and charity sectors, generated by their peers.
SCC and NHS Dumfries & Galloway IM&T Department are being recognised for the delivery of an innovative solution that allowed for a Hospital EPrescribing and Medicine Administration (HEPMA) at each bedside in the new single patient room hospital, in a secure and efficient manner.
The security HEPMA needed meant that an end point was required in each patient’s room, and each clinical user would need to log in and out of the end point each time they accessed it. SCC assessed and created an innovative virtual desktop infrastructure that allowed staff to log in and out within seconds, all with the tap of a card; rather than logging in and out manually. This potentially saves thousands of hours of staff time.
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in London on June 21st.
