SCC helps frontline County Council care teams with free Microsoft licensing during COVID-19 pandemic

SCC continues to support frontline care teams throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, with the delivery of 500 Office 365 (O365) licences, free of charge, for a Midlands County Council. Due to the increased demand as a result of the pandemic, the county council is recruiting additional staff to support frontline care teams. This requires additional O365 licenses but only on a temporary basis. However, under the council’s existing agreement, additional licenses would incur permanent cost. Given the pace at which the pandemic is evolving, the council is unable to specify headcount, with additional staff being recruited in response to the upward trend in COVID-19 cases and increased demand on frontline care services. SCC was able to solve this challenge with 500 free licenses for O365 E1 for six months, for the county council to allocate as required.
