SCC keeps Central Government IT services online with direct home deliveries and installations
With an urgent need to enable widespread homeworking, SCC is supporting a key Central Government department by supplying imaged laptops from ring-fenced and prioritised kit directly to people’s homes, including, where required and possible within social distancing guidance, sending security cleared engineers out to help with installations and set-up. Remote technical support is available where a home visit is not possible, as well as on an on-going basis to ensure employees get and remain up and running throughout the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. The ring-fencing of kit has also enabled SCC to provide Central Government employees with pre-imaged laptops, monitors and peripherals, including vital communications and collaboration hardware, directly to their homes. After lockdown measures were announced, SCC was able to collect and stored a large number of customer-owned laptops and monitors, which are now being re-boxed and shipped to home addresses and will continue to happen as and when required. In addition to customer-owned kit, SCC processed an urgent order overnight to provide 400 RDS licenses, enabling immediate access for homeworkers and ensuring no major disruption to BAU. This is another example of SCC supporting critical Public Sector services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and we are proud to be playing our part in delivering important business continuity.
