Asus Finds for a New Angle on Wearables with ZenWatch 2

The new Asus ZenWatch 2 with its stylish, refined design, improved user experience, new features and new functionality is expected to be top-seller in the fast-growing wearables sector.

The ZenWatch 2 builds on the swish-looking original model in every way and comes with a new metal watch crown for added usability, IP67 dust and water resistance, and extended battery life. It also has a magnetic charger which reduces recharge times significantly.

It runs the Android Wear OS and with various apps included, can be used with Android smartphones to provide more detailed activity and wellness information. It also has a remote camera function, which wearers can use to display their smartphone’s camera viewfinder on their watch display. This makes it much easier to take photos from difficult angles or when the viewfinder is be difficult to see, such as when holding the phone overhead at a concert or other crowded event. Users can switch between their phone’s front and rear cameras and make use of zoom capability through the watch too.

Available in two sizes and attractive Silver, Gunmetal and Rose Gold colours the watch crystal is designed with a gentle curve and the smooth screen surface makes for easy and responsive swiping gestures. It is made from tough Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 for protection against scratches and damage. A variety of straps are available for the device too.
