Commercial Comeback Stabilises PC Sales Boat

LaptopIDC said that strong sales of notebooks in the second half helped the EMEA market to stabilise. This was largely down to the commercial sector staging something of a comeback, growing 10.1% in Western Europe. Notebooks performed well across EMEA and were up 2.7% in the Western region. Consumer demand was down overall.  Annually, traditional PC shipments fell to 71.6 million units in 2016, down 6.1% from 2015. Currency fluctuations contributed to the UK market seeing a -6.2% contraction. HP Inc led in Q416 with market share of 25.5%, Lenovo claimed 21.1% and Dell 11.1%.
