Government Bodies Merged to Form New Infrastructure Authority

The UK’s Major Projects Authority is to merge with Infrastructure UK to create a new body overseeing big government projects. The MPA was established to oversee the government’s £489bn Major Projects Portfolio, which includes digital schemes that include Universal Credit welfare reforms and the NHS care.data project. The Infrastructure UK body works on long-term planning and investment. The combined body will be known as the Infrastructure and Projects Authority.
