HP Enterprise Targets SMBs with Converged Hybrid ProLiant EC200a Server

ProLiant Server ProLiant Server – Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has launched a new line of converged, preconfigured servers aimed at the SMB market. The ProLiant Easy Connect servers enable smaller businesses and branch offices tap the power of the cloud whenever circumstances dictate or growth opportunities present themselves.

The compact HPE ProLiant EC200a is the first of a new family of managed hybrid servers that HPE plans to launch. Essentially it applies the thin-client concept to the server and thus provides a ready-to-deploy hybrid infrastructure that ideal for SMBs.

While customers will need to purchase the core hardware, they will subscribe to annual licenses for the management and backup capabilities. The ProLiant EC200s will support up to five virtual machines and is aimed at businesses and establishments with between five and 50 users.
