HP Inc. Redefines the Desktop with Elite Slice

HP Elite SliceHP Inc. is attempting to redefine the desktop PC, combining slick one-touch collaboration features and PC power in the smallest desktop it has ever produced.

Measuring just 6.5 by 1.38 by 6.5 inches, the new Elite Slice is a revolution in design offering one-touch integrated conferencing plus built-in security and manageability functions. The ultra-compact design also offers – with the exception of a power able – completely wireless operation. The result is both attractive and unobtrusive. Reviewers are already praising HP for its bold innovation and interest in the Slice is expects to be strong right across the market.

There is a lot of excitement about the Elite Slice as it changes the perception of what desktop can be. The capacitive touch controls allow users to make calls, adjust volume, mute and hang-up easily when using collaboration software such as Skype for Business, while the Bang and Olufsen speakers provide 360° sound. Another innovative feature of the HP Slice is the wireless charging capability; users will be able to place mobile devices, such as smartphones, on the top of the device to recharge their batteries.

The HP Slice will be available with Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 options and – although it is designed for wireless connectivity to standard peripherals, it also has HDMI, Display Port, Ethernet, USB-C, and USB ports. Pricing and availability is yet to be announced.
