NHS Trust Launches £5million Internet of Things Trial

Surrey and Borders Partners NHS Trust has launched a £5million trial using Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to improve care for people with dementia.

Sensors, trackers and apps will be installed in everyday objects, such as fridges; kettles and beds, within the homes of patients, to allow remote monitoring of behaviour and data collection. The aim is to enable earlier intervention, relieve pressure on services and allow people to stay in their homes independently for longer.
