Polaroid Launches Affordable 3D Printer

Polaroid, one of the most famous names in imaging, is making 3D printing available, affordable and desirable for everyone and this ground-breaking product is now available in the UK. The new Polaroid ModelSmart 250S 3D printer has been designed specifically for the consumer market with clean looks and designs that will fit in with the décor in any household, classroom or small office.

This 3D printer will be ideal for use in the home and by schools. It is being brought to market through a three-year partnership between Polaroid and UK-based manufacturer, Environmental Business Products (EBP), which is Europe’s largest and longest- established collector and remanufacturer of inkjet cartridges.

The Polaroid ModelSmart 250S  has dimensions of only 250(w) x 150(h) x 150(d) mm and features accurate auto-calibration and a vertical resolution (layer height) 50 – 350 micron. It also has a WiFi-enabled camera built-in and is very easy to set-up and use, with only 12 parameter settings. Nine PLA colours (Pink, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Lime, Black, White, Silver) and Wood are available as the base material. A smartchip mechanism on filament cartridge identifies filament levels and ensures correct material is used. Revolutionary and transparent double-sided adhesive Z-Axis sheets are applied to the print bed for effortless application, adhesion and model removal.
