Study Shows Desktops are Not Dead

DesktopsMobile device adoption in the workplace has yet to reach it’s peak, with a recent study showing that although 80% of workers surveyed received one or more device from their employer, desktops are still the most popular corporate device among businesses.

The findings come the 2016 Gartner Personal Technologies Study. It said that more than half of workers have access to corporate-issued desktop PCs, while 36% received laptops, including convertibles. Most smartphones used in the workplace are personally-owned – only 23% of employees receive a corporate device.

The survey also highlighted that despite the popularity of desktops, employees are largely relying on personally-owned mobile devices, as opposed to business devices.
