Wearables Shipments See Triple-Digit Growth

Wearables unit shipments grew 171.6% in 2015 over 2014 and by 126.9% in Q4 last year compared to Q4 2014, according to figures from IDC. In the last three months of 2015, 27.4 million wearable devices were shipped in Q4 with 78 million sold over the year. Continued innovation will be needed to keep the pace of growth up though, IDC warned. Apple, Samsung and Garmin were all among the market leaders.
